Groundworks is the first trade on site. When it slips, everything behind it slips.

And when it does, it is your name in the progress meeting. These are the three things that put a groundworks package at risk.

The programme

Every trade that follows is waiting on the slab, the drainage and the connections. A late start on groundworks is a late finish for the whole project.

The paperwork

RAMS, certificates and accreditations have to be in place before anyone starts. A contractor who cannot produce them does not get past pre-qualification.

The ground

Poor ground, water, contamination and unrecorded services. Found early, they are a line in the price. Found late, they stop the job.

Our process

Site to sign-off

Three steps, whether it is a machine base for a factory or a treatment plant for a farmhouse.

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the project

Call us or send the drawings. If it helps, we will arrange a site visit.

  2. Step 2: A clear price, with the risks identified

We review the ground conditions, access and programme, and raise anything that could add cost later, while it is still inexpensive to resolve.

  3. Step 3: Delivered and signed off

Built to programme by our own team and plant, and handed over with the paperwork that goes with it.

What our clients say

“We have been very pleased with project delivery to our requirements – within timescale, budget, and most importantly to our demanding health and safety standards.”

Why the groundworks contractor matters

When groundworks goes wrong

  • Programme delays that knock on to every trade
  • RAMS and paperwork rejected at pre-qualification
  • Foundations or drainage that fail inspection
  • Variations that appear once the ground is opened

When it is done right

Groundworks delivered to programme, signed off first time, and a contractor you will call first on the next project.

For homeowners

Septic tank failed its survey, and the sale is waiting on it?

We replace non-compliant septic tanks with treatment plants for homeowners across Wigan and the North West. Call us with what the survey found, and we will explain what the regulations require and how quickly the work can be completed.

Have a project that needs pricing?

Send us the drawings, or we will arrange a site visit. We will give you a clear price and tell you about any risks we can see.
