Groundworks for bespoke new build developments

  • Commercial

On a new build, groundworks is the first trade on site, and every trade that follows depends on it.

We deliver the complete groundworks package for bespoke new build developments: foundations, drainage and connections, roads and paths, and external works. We can also act as principal contractor.

The challenge

One late package delays every trade behind it

When foundations, drainage and external works sit with different contractors, the gaps between them become your problem. Each handover is another chance for the programme to slip.

We have delivered specialist groundworks across the North West since 2008. We know where these projects go wrong, and we plan for it before work starts.

What we deliver

New build developments, done properly

Foundations and substructure

From excavation to slab, designed to the ground conditions on each plot.

Drainage and connections

Foul and surface water drainage designed with future access in mind, and the sewer connection made by our own Street Works qualified team.

Roads, paths and external works

Private roads and paths built to structural specification, with driveways, patios and fencing to complete each plot.

Principal contractor

We can take on the principal contractor role for new builds, as well as working as groundworks contractor under a main contractor.

Our process

Site to sign-off

Three steps, whether it is a machine base for a factory or a treatment plant for a farmhouse.

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the project

Call us or send the drawings. If it helps, we will arrange a site visit.

  2. Step 2: A clear price, with the risks identified

We review the ground conditions, access and programme, and raise anything that could add cost later, while it is still inexpensive to resolve.

  3. Step 3: Delivered and signed off

Built to programme by our own team and plant, and handed over with the paperwork that goes with it.

What our clients say

“We have been very pleased with project delivery to our requirements – within timescale, budget, and most importantly to our demanding health and safety standards.”

What is at stake

When groundworks goes wrong

  • Trades standing idle waiting for slabs
  • Drainage that fails inspection late in the build
  • Several contractors, and no single point of responsibility

When it is done right

One contractor responsible for everything below ground and around the plot, delivered to programme and handed over signed off.

What affects the price

Every project is priced on its own requirements. These are the factors that make the biggest difference, and we will discuss each one with you before work starts.

  • Number of plots and the foundation design
  • Length of drainage runs and the connection
  • Roads and external works within the package
  • Programme and phasing
